MTV India Unplugged Dubai

It was an evening where Shilpa Rao and Shafqat Amanat Ali enchanted the audience with their soulful unplugged music. City 1016 Unplugged artists - Michelle and Rajiv Sapru opened the concert with their beautiful performances. Shilpa Rao is a powerhouse performer who has given us some of the most beautiful songs in movies like Dev D, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Cocktail, English Vinglish, Paa, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl…just to name a few. From the moment she walked on to that stage, she mesmerized us with her unplugged renditions of Mahiya, Ishq Shava, Khuda Jaane, Yaariyaan, English Vinglish and my absolute favourite…Dhol Yaara Dhol! Shafqat Amanat Ali requires no introduction and the man is a complete performer. Aankhon ke Sagar, Mora Saiyyan, Yen Honsla were just some of the songs that put us in a rapturous trance! The evening was quite a musical revelation as Shafqat walked around the room and made some audience members sing along with him. Imagine the delight that went around the room when the audience members he picked not only sang with him but sang just as well as him!!!

The concert was an absolute musical delight!
