Diya aur Baati Hum
Star Plus celebrates Sooraj's victory with 'Diya aur Baati Hum' fans in Delhi
Holds Vijay Yatra from India Gate
Delhi, 24th August2012: Marriages are made in heaven and good marriages are built on respect and love - the essence of Star Plus' pathbreaking show 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' that celebrates the union of Sandhya and Sooraj.
All the more reason for celebration is the victory of Sooraj in the ‘World’s Top Cook’ competition, which wouldn't have been possible without Sandhya's support and encouragement.
Star Plus is celebrating this rare mix of love, support and encouragement between the screen couple by honouring Sooraj's victory with a ‘Vijay Yatra’ in Delhi starting from India Gate to Lajpat Nagar with lots of cheering, dancing and merry-making.
The event really marks the transformation of Sooraj from a self-doubting person to the world's top chef, thanks all due to his wife's unwavering belief in him.
As he returns home with the title in bag, Sooraj says, “This wouldn’t have happened without my wife Sandhya’s effort and encouragement. I dedicate my triumph solely to her.”
Sooraj is also planning a feast to partake his success with fans at the end of his victory lap. A fabulous treat in the form Jalebis made by Sooraj awaits fans awaiting him at Lajpat Nagar. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime moment for his fans, as they will get to taste Sooraj’s cooking – something they had only seen on TV, and something they never thought they would get a chance to do in real-life.
“This ‘Vijay Yatra’ has been organised by Star Plus to share Sooraj’s joy and victory with his fans – his real supporters. Diya Aur Baati Hum has always maintained its progressive stance, and the ‘Vijay Yatra’ revelry will be a symbol of that,” says Nachiket Pantvaidya, GM, Star Plus.
